Oakwood Soccer Club's Pre-MLS Next Teams
Oakwood Soccer Club’s Pre-MLS Next teams serve as the gateway to our elite MLS Next program. Designed for younger players who have graduated from our Youth Training League (YTL) program, these teams are the first step into competitive team play and are integral to preparing players for the challenges of MLS Next competition. With the expansion of the MLS Next new tier league platform we will for Pre-MLS & Pre-MLS 2 teams.
Preparing for MLS Next
Our Pre-MLS Next teams are dedicated to developing young players who aspire to join our MLS Next teams in the future. At the U11 and U12 age groups, these teams compete in the North East Academy League (NEAL) conference of the National Academy League (NAL), offering a competitive environment where players can hone their skills and understanding of the game. At the U8 through U10 age groups, the teams will complete on a local level in the competitive EDP League system. Our coaching staff follows the same development philosophies and methodologies as our MLS Next teams, ensuring that players are on the right path to success.
Competitive Play in NEAL
The NEAL conference provides a high level of competition for our Pre-MLS Next teams in the age groups that lead immediately into the MLS programming, allowing players to face strong opponents and gain valuable experience. This league is an essential part of our player development pathway, ensuring that every player is prepared for the next step in their soccer journey.
