Coaching Philosophy:
My passion and love of coaching came from watching and playing for my high school and college coaches. My high school coach, Ralph King, and my college coach, Joe Morrone, were nationally renowned. Their ability to motivate players to be the best they could be was unmatched. Soon after college graduation, I was hired to coach a high school team and immediately knew this is what I wanted to do. Forty-eight years later, my passion for coaching has not diminished. Our players must play as a team, combining their high level of skill and composure with a system of play that best fits the team’s individual strengths. Their commitment to improving individually and as a team must be 100 percent.

What message would you like to share with current and prospective Oakwood families?
My son played for Oakwood’s owners Dave and Rick, as well as other Oakwood coaches, and they helped him tremendously to achieve his goal of playing Division I soccer. My role as coach will be similar in supporting our players and team to be the best they can be. This includes assisting our players in improving their technical abilities as well as the mental aspect of the game. Most importantly, my job will be to produce a team that showcases our players’ strengths and desirability when they are being seen by college coaches. As a school counselor, former college coach, and parent of children who went through the college recruiting process, I believe I am well suited to support our players and parents in this regard.
