Oakwood Soccer Club’s Girls Academy stands as the flagship of our girls' soccer program, where our top-tier teams and players are driven by a commitment to excellence. Each player is encouraged to push beyond their limits, striving to grow and improve daily. As they compete at the highest levels, they exemplify dedication, resilience, teamwork, and respect—core values that define our club’s culture.
At Oakwood, we are dedicated to providing a clear pathway to success, offering resources that support development both on and off the field. Our mission is to prepare players for the challenges they will face in college soccer and beyond while equipping them with life skills that will benefit them in all aspects of their lives.
Academy Participation
Participation in our Girls Academy is by invitation only, reflecting our commitment to identifying and nurturing the most talented players. Our coaching staff actively scouts for top talent both within our club and across the state, ensuring that our teams are composed of players ready to compete against the best. Our Girls Academy teams regularly face formidable opponents, including teams with Youth National Team (YNT) players, providing an environment where players can develop their skills and prepare for college soccer and beyond.
Season & Timeline
Our program begins at the U13 level, with younger teams starting their season in late summer and participating in at least two Girls Academy Regional events throughout the year. The U15-U19 teams begin their season with optional fall training and friendlies for players not engaged in high school soccer. These older teams typically participate in two to three national showcases, events that draw the attention of college coaches and YNT scouts alike.
About the Girls Academy League
The Girls Academy (GA) is the premier youth development platform for elite female soccer players in the United States. Unique in its structure, the GA is the only national league that actively incorporates the voices of its member clubs and players to shape the direction of the league. This player-centered approach ensures that the highest standards of coaching, competition, and showcase events are upheld throughout the year.
At Oakwood Soccer Club, we embrace the GA’s mission to empower each player to reach their full potential, not only as exceptional athletes but as outstanding individuals. By fostering an environment of camaraderie and competition, we celebrate each player’s journey and their lifelong love of the game.
One of the distinctive features of the GA is its Advisory Panel—a player-led board that gives athletes a platform to influence league decisions. This panel is instrumental in suggesting improvements to the league, engaging with sponsors, organizing charitable initiatives, and shaping league merchandise offerings, among other contributions. At Oakwood, we are proud to be part of a league that values and elevates the voices of its players.
